To the benefit of our clients, our owner Terri Robbins has a keen ability to attract home caregivers who are passionate about their work, which results in little turnover. Most Assisting Hands Home caregivers — both men and women — have worked with us for two or more years. We can generally have a caregiver in the home of new client in 48 hours or less. We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To be a home caregiver in the Assisting Hands Home Care family, you must have both a desire and enthusiasm for helping people. Once we see that passion in a home caregiver candidate, he/she is put through extensive background checks. Even though the state of Texas requires local, county and statewide screenings, we take the process further checking on national and international levels.
After passing the screening process caregiver candidates are trained on-site. Each is bonded, licensed, insured and trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as first aid. Once screened and trained, the candidate begins his/her work for our client families. Our caregivers expand their knowledge and stay up to date on current developments in the home caregiving field while earning continuing education credits each year. A good number are certified nursing assistants (CNA) who are looking for a change to provide care within a one-on-one relationship. Terri Robbins hires on home caregivers who are passionate about their work.
