NAMPA, Idaho (March 14, 2016) – Assisting Hands Home Care today announced that Richard Ueberfluss has been named chief operating officer. His wife, Jennifer Ueberfluss will expand her role to president of Assisting Hands Chicago.
“We are fortunate to have incredible depth and breadth of talent across Assisting Hands’ Family of Franchise Owners,” said Lane Kofoed, president and CEO of Assisting Hands Home Care. “Richard and his wife developed a highly successful Assisting Hands business in a very short amount of time, and [Richard] is very deserving of this promotion.”
Ueberfluss will be assisting in franchisee growth by negotiating national vendor and referral contracts, aiding franchisees with additional savings and increased sales growth. Ueberfluss will also help Assisting Hands become a more visible, international organization, by accommodating Kofoed in Discovery Days, national franchising events, and franchisee promotion.
Ueberfluss became an Assisting Hands owner in 2008 after over two decades as a physical therapist as an administrator in a critical access hospital specializing in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, sports and home health care. In the eight years as Assisting Hands Chicago president and area representative, Ueberfluss provided private duty caregivers to residents of Chicagoland so they can stay in their homes with comfort and safety. Ueberfluss said he felt called to the Assisting Hands family because there was only so much he could do as a physical therapist to strengthen people. As an Assisting Hands franchise owner, however, he can help more elderly people remain safe in their own homes.
“I’m very honored to have been chosen as Assisting Hands’ COO,” said Ueberfluss. “My wife and I had no idea when we started almost ten years ago that we would find this kind of success. But with a family of dedicated entrepreneurs like Assisting Hands franchise owners, it’s not surprising at all.”
Ueberfluss is a former Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, licensed physical therapist, and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist with an MBA from Loyola University Chicago. In 2011, Ueberfluss was named Assisting Hands’ Franchisee of the Year, an International Franchise Association program that is extended to franchisor members during the IFA’s annual Franchise Action Network Meeting in Washington D.C.
