Meet the Team
Chuck Maurer
Through his volunteer work with San Diego Hospice, Chuck saw the need for in home care for people suffering from dementia, cancer and other disabilities, and was inspired to start Assisting Hands in San Diego. Previously he practiced law representing the underprivileged and other wrongfully damaged individuals in court helping them to recover what they suffered.
Ann McCulloch
After a career on Wall Street, Ann was an officer for non-profit companies. When her father passed away it changed her perspective causing her to focus more on the importance of family, and the needs of the elderly and terminally ill. She has been active in Social Venture Partners and local charities seeking to improve the lives of others.
Michael Dougherty
After losing his mother and a close friend to cancer Michael saw the need for in home care during the final months of life, and decided to help others similarly situated. To do so he started Assisting Hands in San Diego.
Alex Maurer
Alex works closely with caregivers and clients to help meet client needs. Using computer skills and a business background, he keeps the office software and client communications current.
Natalie Maurer
Natalie graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She has a history of service to others, and is highly recommended by families in the La Jolla community that she has served.
