Recent changes in healthcare have made it so that some patients get discharged from rehabilitation centers following a surgery or illness without the ability to care for themselves. That said, patient’s family members usually need to provide the care themselves, but they may not have the time or resources to provide such care.
Families then ponder how to take care of their loved one’s post-operative care. Usually, the patient is against going to a long-term post-operative care facility, such as a nursing home. Their preference is to remain home, but it’s unsafe for them to stay there alone.
