Caregiver of the Month – Belle Sarkar

September 13, 2018Daniellah Salario

Our caregiver of the month this September is Belle Sarkar. Belle is a true asset to Assisting Hands Home Care and brings a compassion and desire to be the very best for her clients.  At Assisting Hands Home Care, we chose Belle as our caregiver of the month because of her dedication to her clients, her reliability, and her willingness to work as part of a team. Belle is not someone who gives up when things are hard, but insists on learning from each and every experience.  Belle is kind, gentle, smart, and always give 100% for each and every client (and her admin team as well)!caregiver-of-the-month-Bella

We asked Belle a few questions and her answers really show her spirit and innate nature for caregiving:

  1. What inspired you to become a caregiver?

I spent most of my life helping others, and wanted to become a physician. Showing compassion and kindness goes a long way for people. You can literally see a difference in another person sick from a disease or injury, with the touch of your hand against their arm, or just listening to the person and smiling. Smiling shows warmth towards others helps people to feel that they are not alone with their issues.

2) What advice would you give new caregivers?

The only advice that comes to mind is “patience”. I feel patience is crucial as a caregiver. There are a lot of days that seem overwhelming, and you might feel that you cannot get through this day in a difficult situation, but taking a step back and trying to see things from the other person’s perspective can help ease some of the stress you might be feeling towards the situation.

3) What are your future goals?

Along my journey in healthcare, I decided that I didn’t want to become a physician, but a nurse. I feel that I can spend more time with patients as a nurse. I would like to travel as a nurse, and eventually become a nurse practitioner. The more experience you gain, in my book, the better you will be at your profession. During this time, I would still love to work for Assisting Hands Home Care as a nurse.

4) What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I love hiking, meditating, yoga, and attending MMA (mixed martial arts) tournaments.

Belle’s clients tell us they look forward to her visits and feel calm when she arrives.

Congratulations, Belle! We are so proud to award you caregiver of the month!
