Our hearts are bursting to tell you…Michelle Guerrero is our caregiver of the month for February! Michelle always walks in ready to step up for her clients. She has many years of experience and has seen a variety of situations so we are always confident she can handle her clients’ different needs.
Michelle is a true Assisting Hands team player, prepared to be flexible and always thinking about what’s best for her clients.
Michelle has been working as a caregiver for 15 years! She is a CNA and is certified in Pediatric and Geriatric care, as well as Alzheimer’s care. She has worked in a Hospital, as an Emergency Room Technician, and in Behavioral Health. She has completed Practical Nursing school and is waiting to apply for her license. We believe that Michelle is in exactly the right field for her can-do disposition that always puts her clients (and us!) at ease. Thank you for all you do, Michelle! Here she is in her own words:
1. What inspired you to become a caregiver?
What inspired me to to be a caregiver is I enjoy working in healthcare and being hands on with my clients whether it’s skilled nursing or companionship. I believe in treating all my clients with respect and dignity.
2. What advice would you give to new caregivers?
My advice to new caregivers is always treat your patients with respect and dignity and treat them the way you would want someone to treat the people you love.
3. Why do you like to work for your home care clients with Assisting Hands?
I enjoy working with the clients that I have in home health care with Assisting Hands because I work with a phenomenal team. My co-workers and manager really care not only for the well-being of our clients but the well-being of our staff which is very hard to find in such a fast-paced and fast-growing field.
4. What are your future goals?
My future goals are to return to nursing school and complete my bachelors in nursing and go on to be a pediatric nurse practitioner.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
Because I work so much, in my spare time I like to spend time with my daughter and my family and enjoy a good movie.
