Providing In Home Post Surgery Care Instead of Long Term Rehab
With medical expenses on the rise, hospitals and rehab facilities want to move patients out as quickly as possible. If your aging loved one has been in the hospital for surgery or an illness, you may need to find post-operative care for them.
Instead of leaving them in a longer-term nursing facility as they recuperate, Assisting Hands®’ caregivers can provide the post-surgery care that our clients need in the comfort of their own home.
Whether your aging loved one needs help with personal care such as bathing or dressing, eating, walking, medication reminders, or other post-surgery care, the caregivers at Assisting Hands will provide the assistance they needs during their recuperation.
This postoperative care also allows them to stay home versus spending more time in a depressing nursing home or longer care facility.
Our home health aides can provide post-operative care our clients need to bridge the gap during this interim recovery period. This post-surgery care can help prevent the most common reasons for hospital re-admission.
We can help after surgery when you can’t be there
When you cannot be there, our caregivers can help with a variety of services to prevent hospital re-admission, including:
- Providing safe transportation for your aging loved one and their belongings from the hospital or rehab facility to their home
- Picking up prescriptions, groceries or other supplies
- Preparing nutritious meals
- Monitoring medication intake
- Assisting with daily activities while your aging loved one continues to gain strength
- Transporting to doctors’ appointments
Assisting Hands can provide additional post-surgery care to our clients based on their needs. If your aging loved one could benefit from additional companionship, help with household chores, or assistance with daily living activities after their rehabilitation period, some or all of these services could be extended.
