Gerry Patrizio, President & Owner
Assisting Hands Home Care, serving Mercer, Monmouth & Ocean Counties, is managed by our Owner and President, Gerry Patrizio. Gerry is a Certified Senior Advisor and received his MBA in International Finance from Wagner College. Gerry brings over 25 years’ experience from the financial services industry consisting of professional business management and exceptional client service. Gerry is committed to providing outstanding customer service to our clients and peace of mind to their families. Gerry’s main focus is to offer personalized home care to older adults and others in need.
Gerry has been an active member of the community serving as commissioner for Pop Warner Football and has also been an active participant in events benefiting the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Gerry resides in Manalapan Township with his wife Maria and their three children.
Gerry’s motivation to serve the community and the elderly stems from his own personal experience after undergoing spine surgery requiring several months recuperation where he was a fall risk; Gerry was fortunate to have his family available to care for him in the comfort of his home. Gerry is committed to ensuring that all our clients are happy and well cared for in their familiar environment.
Stephen Hoelle, RNBC, Director of Nursing
Stephen brings varied experience to his position with Assisting hands. He started helping his community as a volunteer EMT which led him to a career as a registered nurse. His work in nursing includes managing a dementia unit, medical-surgical nursing, home care nursing, and assisted living. With his experience and dedication, Stephen brings to Assisting Hands the knowledge and ability to oversee optimum care to our clients.
Stephen educates our staff of care givers on the importance of client dignity and respect while providing direct client care to promote their independence. He assesses each client and works with them to develop a plan of care that not only meets the client’s needs but is a support to their significant other and family members as well. Stephen meets with clients and caregivers regularly to review and revise the plan of care as needed while establishing and maintaining a team approach to providing care to our clients. As the Director of Nursing for Assisting Hands, Stephen’s goal is to provide the utmost quality of care to the client and their family members in a harmonious routine that provides comfort and support to all.
Rachel Freer, Office Manager
Rachel began her career as Office Manager with Assisting Hands Home Care in October 2018 she brings with her over ten years of home care experience. She previously held a position as office/billing/payroll manager with another Home Care Agency. Rachel graduated Ashford University in 2009 with a degree in Psychology, and a minor in social service and also has a detailed background in Social Work.
Rachel enjoys music and concerts with her husband and older children. She enjoys doing activities with her two young grandchildren and her dog as well. She and her husband love to travel both mini weekenders and long vacations as well. She has three adult children; twin girls and a son. She has 2 young granddaughters and a family dog named Buzz. Rachel is here for all your home care needs/questions and is available to help with anything she can.
Jakemia Miller, Human Resource Coordinator
Jakemia’s role is responsible for recruiting, screening and interviewing our Certified Home Health Aides as well as maintaining current HR files and databases.
Jakemia joined Assisting Hands in 2014. She has over 5 years of experience in home care both as a caregiver and in the office. Jakemia is a native New Jerseyan and has lived her entire life in Monmouth County. She has one daughter and a family dog named Gucci. They both enjoy photography as a hobby as well as spending time outdoors with Gucci.
