Today, Alexis brings that experience to entrepreneurship and community-based healthcare. She is the owner of Assisting Hands Gulf Coast (AHGC) Home Care, with offices in Tampa, Sarasota and Venice. AHGC provides in-home older adults, senior and veterans care, helping them age safely, independently, and with dignity in their places of residence. Under Alexis’ leadership, the organization has distinguished itself through innovative care and care-management solutions, a strong caregiver workforce, and a commitment to cultural competence. Her emphasis on multilingual caregivers reflects her belief that effective healthcare should be accessible, respectful, and responsive to the diverse cultures and needs of the communities it serves.

Building on her passion for innovation and emerging technologies, Alexis supports promising startups with high-growth potential, particularly those developing solutions capable of creating meaningful impact across healthcare and beyond.

Alexis’ leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration, compassion, inclusion, and service. She has developed multi-year strategic plans and helped create and cultivate “Best in Class” cultures within complex organizations. She believes that meaningful leadership extends beyond business results—it is about empowering people, embracing diversity, and creating positive change.

Alexis holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Decision Information Science from the University of Florida. She has served as a Board of Trustee Member for the Florida Council on Aging and as a member of a healthcare advisory board. She is bilingual in English and Vietnamese.

Outside of her professional and entrepreneurial pursuits, Alexis is a world traveler, avid mountain trekker, and enthusiastic explorer of different cultures, culinary experiences, and communities. She enjoys spending time with her family. Above all, Alexis is driven by a desire to spread kindness and compassion and to use her experience, leadership, and resources to help make the world a better place.

A notable strength of Yohaima is her concern for the care needs of the caregiving employees and clients. She has expressed that she enjoys working with caregiving employees to ensure they have the training and skills needed to customize their services to each client’s specific care needs.

Before her professional accomplishments, Yohaima enjoys her role as a mother to her two sons and has a keen interest in traveling, primarily to and from her Puerto Rican homeland. Her fluency in both English and Spanish remains a valuable asset in building rapport with those she encounters at Assisting Hands Home Care Tampa Bay.

Today, Eric continues to bring that same dedication and compassion to his work and the people he serves. His extensive healthcare experience, combined with his background in emergency services, gives him a unique perspective on patient care, effective communication, and the importance of providing dependable, personalized solutions.

Outside of his professional life, family is at the center of everything he does. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, their two daughters, and their son, especially traveling and creating lasting memories together. He also values an active, healthy lifestyle through fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness.
