In-home caregiving services are more popular than ever for individuals in the United States, as more people are utilizing some form of these services.
In-home caregiving services allow those who need such care to remain independent and within the environment of their home that they are accustomed to.
In some cases, though, individuals need extra supervision beyond normal care.
At Assisting Hands Palatine, we respond to such situations with our live-in care and 24-hour care services. They are offered to people in need in Palatine, IL and the surrounding area.
24-Hour vs. Live-in Care — What’s the Difference?
The main difference between our live-in care service and our 24-hour care service is the amount of attentiveness we provide to clients.
For our live-in caregiving services, a caregiver lives in the home of the individual they are caring for and every three to four days, they rotate with another caregiver.
As such, the caregiver must be provided with a place to sleep for five to six hours per night uninterrupted. After the caregiver’s nightly rest, they will then continue to provide necessary care.
With our 24-hour caregiving services, you get exactly that: care 24 hours a day. A different caregiver will come every 12 hours to ensure that needs are met both day and night. Because of this, caregivers in our 24-hour care services do not require a place to sleep.
Our 24-hour care services are a great option for clients who require constant care and supervision due to a medical condition. We are unable to provide medical care, but we are able to get emergency personnel on-site right away.
Non-Medical Caregiving Services Offered by Assisting Hands Palatine
Whether you pick our live-in care services or our 24-hour care services, our caregivers at Assisting Hands Palatine are sure to provide quality care. However, our caregivers are not nurses, so they cannot help with bandage changing, injections, or other medical tasks. But they can still assist clients with a myriad of non-medical tasks, such as:
- Bathing, grooming, using the bathroom, and more
- Changing clothes
- Getting in and out of bed
- Meal preparation
- Moderate housekeeping like dusting, making the bed, and vacuuming
- Medication reminders including which medications and dosages to take
- Transportation within a home and outside of it
Unique Care Plan for You or a Loved One
To ensure you or your loved one receives the care he or she needs and deserves, we sit down with the client and his or her family to decide what services are necessary. We then develop a proper care plan that fits the client’s needs and use it to provide exceptional caregiving services.
We can offer these services on a short-term basis, from a few days to a few weeks, or on a long-term basis. The daily rate for our care is based on what services our caregivers will need to provide.
Around-the-Clock Home Care from Experienced Caregivers
Each and every one of the caregivers Assisting Hands Palatine employs is qualified with years of experience and well-trained with CPR, first aid, and numerous other caregiving services. But this is just the start.
It is mandatory for our caregivers to take additional classes throughout the year to ensure they stay updated on the latest in-home care.
We also have bilingual caregivers, so we can provide a client with a caregiver who speaks a language other than English if need be.
