Non-Medical Home Health Care in Joliet, IL and Surrounding Areas

Light Housekeeping [including laundry, dishes and vacuuming]
Our home care services can be customized to fit the unique needs of each elderly individual, helping them to stay safe and comfortable in their own home. As soon as you give us a call, we will send a member of our staff to meet with you and your loved one, discussing their needs and creating a customized home care plan to fit these needs.
A caregiver, one that is licensed, background-checked, trained, experienced, bonded, and insured with the company, will then come out to meet you and your loved one. From the beginning, you will find that they will treat your loved one with complete compassion and respect, building a personal connection with them.
For more information about our home care services, give us a call at (815) 201-5445 and we will set up your free consultation.

Medication Reminders, Companionship
Meal Preparation
Many seniors who live at home may be suffering from malnutrition as they are no longer able to prepare healthy meals themselves. Our caregivers can help to prepare and serve the meal as well as clean up afterwards. We will also take into account any of their dietary restrictions.
Personal Assistance with Daily Activities (ADLs)
When the time comes that your loved one is no longer able to manage their self-care tasks, our caregivers can help. We can assist with any of the following: eating, medication reminders, getting dressed, bathing, ambulation, restroom use, and more.
Light Housekeeping
As it’s important for the health and safety of your loved one to maintain a clean environment, they may no longer be able to manage this themselves. Our caregivers can provide light housekeeping, in which they will handle household chores like laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, taking out the garbage, and more.
Transportation and Errands
Due to safety reasons, many seniors have given up their driving privileges, making it hard for them to run errands. Our caregivers can help, providing transportation to doctor’s appointments, the pharmacy, grocery store, family gatherings, and other events.
24-Hour Home Care and Live-In Caregivers

Meal Preparation, Grocery Shopping
As seniors age, they may need someone there for them at all times. In these situations, Assisting Hands Home Care offers both live-in care and 24-hour home care. With live-in care, a caregiver will live with your loved one for 3-4 days, but it is required they have their own room to sleep in. With 24-hour care, 2 caregivers will alternate 12-hour shifts, staying awake the entire time to assist your loved one.
Companion Care
It’s normal for seniors to have feelings of depression and loneliness as they may not have any friends or family that live nearby. Our caregivers will engage them in fun activities and conversation, not to mention build a personal connection with them to help them feel more comfortable.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Home Care
Assisting Hands Home Care has years of experience in assisting Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Our caregivers are specially trained to work with them, engaging them in memory care exercises while using positive reinforcement to slow the effects of memory loss while counteracting mood swings and agitation.
