Home Care Services in Romeoville, IL and Surrounding Areas

Meal Preparation, Grocery Shopping
Before home care services, seniors had no other choice but to move to a nursing home or assisted living facility. But now they are choosing to age in place instead of moving. When doing this, they have more control and are able to stay within the comfortable environment of their own home.
Now that they are able to stay at home, they will need some extra help in order to stay safe and healthy. This is where Assisting Hands Home Care can help.
Each of our caregivers is licensed, trained, background-checked, and experienced to provide complete home care services for your loved one. As soon as you give us a call, we will set up a free, in-home consultation to discuss their needs and develop a home care plan designed to accommodate them.
As soon as your caregiver arrives, you can trust that they will treat your loved one with compassion and respect. They will also work to build a personal connection with them right away, engaging them in their favorite activities and conversation.
If you or your loved one in Romeoville, IL or the surrounding areas of Will County could benefit from home health care, contact Assisting Hands Home Care at (815) 201-5445.
What Are Non-Medical Home Health Care Services?

Light Housekeeping [including dishes, laundry, vacuuming]
Light Housekeeping
As seniors age, they may struggle with cleaning tasks around the home. Our caregivers can provide light housekeeping services like taking out the garbage, sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc. to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Meal Preparation
It’s common for seniors to experience malnutrition as a result of no longer being able to cook healthy meals for themselves. Our caregivers can provide meal preparation services in which we will prepare, cook, assist with eating if needed, and clean up afterwards to maintain a healthy diet. We will also take dietary restrictions into account.
Personal Assistance with Daily Activities (ADLs)
Many elderly individuals may no longer be able to take care of basic self-care tasks themselves as they age, but our caregivers can assist with any of the following: getting dressed, bathing, restroom use, ambulation, and medication reminders.
Errands and Transportation
Many seniors may have to give up their driving privileges for safety reasons, making it difficult for them to get around. Our caregivers can be there to provide transportation, taking them to the grocery store, post office, doctor’s appointments, family gatherings, and more.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Home Care
Alzheimer’s and dementia patients will need a specialized form of care. Assisting Hands Home Care understands these needs completely, which is why we will only send a caregiver who is well-versed in these needs, using positive reinforcement to counteract any agitation or mood swings. They will also work with them to help them feel comfortable and safe, even engaging them in memory activities to slow the effects of memory loss.
As many seniors feel depressed or loneliness as their children and/or friends live far, our caregivers will work to build a sense of companionship from the beginning. We will engage them in fun conversation and their favorite activities to help them feel safe and comfortable.
It’s common for seniors and adults with limited capabilities to need someone there for them around the clock. Our home care agency provides both live-in and 24-hour care. With our live-in care services, a caregiver will live with them for 3-4 days and will require a space to sleep every 24 hours. With 24-hour care, two caregivers will alternate in 12-hour shifts, staying awake at all times to assist your loved one.
We provide overnight home care services to help senior citizens and adults with limitations in Romeoville, IL who should not be left alone at night. From the evening before your loved ones go to bed until they wake up in the morning, our caregivers will be ready to provide whatever assistance is needed and respond to emergencies.
Set up a Consultation at No Cost
Assisting Hands Home Care understands that the needs of all patients will be different, which is why our home care plans can be customized in order to accommodate all of these needs. They can also be adjusted as your loved one’s needs also change.
