Our services include assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs):
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Activities of daily living (ADLs) are basic self-care activities that people do beginning at an early age. When it comes to home care, the inability to do certain ADLs is a big part of what determines the type and extent of home care people need. Our caregivers can assist your loved ones with activities of daily living which will help them live safely at home. The main ADLs include dressing and grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, walking, and transferring.
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
Instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) are activities that must be done to successfully run a household. These activities involve thinking and organizational skills which makes them difficult for seniors with cognitive limitations. Seniors with physical limitations may also have a hard time taking care of certain tasks around the house. At Assisting Hands Home Care, our caregivers can assist your loved ones with their instrumental activities of daily living. The main IADLs include medication management, finances, transportation, grocery shopping and meal preparation, managing communications, and house cleaning and maintenance.
