Lori Trainor - LPN, CDPLori Trainor – LPN, CDP

Senior Director, Client Services

Lori’s 26 years’ experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse has been devoted to caring for the elderly. As an Assisted Living Director, Skilled Nurse & Care Coordinator, and now as Client Services Director for Assisting Hands serving Cincinnati, Lori develops trust-based relationships with clients and families.

She understands that these are tender, emotional times for everyone. Developing an effective care plan is simply the outcome of her work – the real heart is in the care, concern and desire to help everyone sort through the complex issues related to aging and illness and deliver outstanding service and support.

Lori is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and one of just nine nominees for the Goering Center’s Rising Leader of 2018 award. She embodies the spirit of the Assisting Hands Way and is a key leader in creating a team culture devoted to adding life to the years of our clients.

In her free time, Lori loves to bring homes back to life for delighted new owners and brings herself back to life at Orange Theory Fitness.

Marla Schwartz - RN, MSNMarla Schwartz – RN, MSN

Senior Director of Regional Business Development

From the time she was 16, Marla wanted to run a senior center. Influenced by a loving relationship with her grandparents, she has always had a heart for working with the elderly.

She started her career as an RN at The Christ Hospital in 2005, where she spent two and a half years in the medical ICU. The next five years she spent performing high acuity assessments to place patients into the appropriate rehabilitation settings.

Her hospital experience and interest in the emotional well-being of seniors led her to a position as Residence Services Director for Atria Summit Hills, where she was promoted to Executive Director of a 136-apartment independent and assisted living facility for Atria Highland Crossing.

Marla has a passion is for finding the best post-acute care setting where seniors can thrive.  She understands how to navigate the maze families go through regarding the choice options of skilled rehabs, assisted and independent living, home health care and private duty home health care.

She loves listening to her clients’ stories and adding life to their years. She lives in Northern Kentucky where she enjoys Yoga, running, weight-lifting, floral arranging, and creating essential oils.

Kate Race - Regional Director
Kate Race

Regional Director

Kate is Kentucky born and bred with 20 years’ experience in care for seniors and their families. Her grandfathers were her inspiration – when she was 17, she moved in with one of her grandfathers to be his caregiver while also supporting family members managing care for her other grandfather with dementia.

Dementia care and education are a personal passion, and she spent 12 years out of her 18 year career at Atria Summit Hills Senior Living running their Memory Care unit, where she managed a staff of 22.

Kate loves working with caregivers, clients and family members to help facilitate the best possible relationship and the highest quality care. Her passion is not confined to the workplace – about a decade ago, she began volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association. She currently enjoys running one of their support groups.

Kate’s mornings begin with a Crossfit workout and her days end enjoying the beautiful Bluegrass State. She also enjoys making handmade cards and gifts to share with family and friends.
