Your first visit is really just a conversation. A care coordinator comes to your home, gets to know your loved one, and asks about daily routines, health needs, and what kind of help would make the biggest difference. From there, we put together a care plan built around that specific situation and match you with a caregiver who fits both the needs and the personality involved. There’s no pressure to commit on the spot, it’s mainly a chance for us to understand your family’s situation and for you to ask any questions you have.
Yes, the initial home care assessment is completely free with no obligation to move forward. A care manager spends about 60 to 90 minutes in your home going over daily routines, medical needs, and preferences, and also does a quick safety walkthrough of the house to flag anything like poor lighting or missing grab bars. Family members are welcome, and encouraged, to take part in the assessment. Many families help coordinate care or make decisions on behalf of a loved one, so having them present allows our care manager to gather a complete picture of the client’s needs while addressing any questions or concerns directly. Whether it’s the client alone, a spouse, an adult child, or several family members, the visit is structured to accommodate whoever needs to be involved.
