Potomac, North Potomac, Bethesda, North Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Gaithersburg, Olney, Germantown, and throughout Fairfax County and Northern VA, including Falls Church, Fairfax, Great Falls, McLean, Reston, Sterling, and Herndon. We provide Potomac Home Care services around the clock and we customize our care to meet your schedule.
What We Do
We provide peace of mind and reduce the stress on family caregivers by being there when you can’t be. Assisting Hands provides an array of home care services in Potomac, MD, and Reston, VA, to fit your needs and schedule, including light housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, companion services, senior home care, and help with errands and doctor’s appointments. We are available for a few hours a day to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You set the schedule you need.
Alzheimer's & Dementia
Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or Dementia can be extremely challenging. We use a team approach, coordinating with doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists and family members.
Disability Care
Providing care for a family member who has a disability can be exhausting. Each day you balance your own needs with those of a disabled person to provide the best care possible. We can help.
Post-Operative Care
When post-surgery makes walking, standing or driving difficult, you can rely on us. Our compassionate caregivers provide exceptional home care services to support anyone of any age.
Companion Care
Assisting Hands Home Care’s companions help relieve family stress and also provide your loved one with the companionship and human interaction necessary for both physical and mental health.
Parkinson’s Care
Our caregivers are trained to adapt to the changing needs of the client who has Parkinson’s Disease. Our main goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.
Respite Care
Providing care is both physically and mentally demanding. Respite care provides care for a loved one while enabling family caregivers to have the downtime they so desperately need.
Hospice Support
Our caregivers are trained to offer support, companionship and personal care to a loved one as their condition declines. Our goal is to bring them dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Aging In Place
While aging can lead to reduced physical abilities, that can make maintaining a home difficult and even unsafe, Assisting Hands Home Care can facilitate your desire to remain at home.

Our Difference Is Our Caregivers
Our caregivers are employees of Assisting Hands. They can build careers with us. And we are picky about who we choose to hire. We know that if we take the time and effort to provide the right match between caregiver and client, everyone is happier, there is less stress, and family members have peace of mind.
Thriving At Home
Preventing hospital stays is a critical element of independent living. Hospital stays can be physically and mentally exhausting. Along with the author—Dave Tasto, our very own Steve Lorberbaum shares useful information for family caregivers on how to keep home as safe as possible in the book Thriving at Home – A Handbook for Preventing Hospital Stays.
